HOW TO STOP A SLEEPMULTIMEDIA DVD-ROM FROM AUTOMATICALLY LOADING
The Autorun feature will only work if the Auto Insert Notification setting is selected for your CD-ROM drive. By default, this setting is selected. To deselect this setting, do the following:
In Win95, WIN 98 and Millenium edition:
1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start. Click Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel, double-click the System icon. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Device Manager tab.
3. In the list of devices, double-click CDROM. Click your specific CD-ROM drive.
4. Click Properties. In the Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab. Under Options, deselect the Auto Insert Notification check box, and click OK.
5. In the System Properties dialog box, click OK. Close Control Panel.

For Windows XP:
1. First you will need to open the Registry Editor.
To do this, click "Start" then click "Run" and type in "regedit" (without the quotes).
2. Next, go to the following registry items:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Services\Cdrom\
3. Next, look towards the right side of the registry screen for "AutoRun" or "AutoPlay". Double click on this text then in the "value data" field, enter a "0" to disable Auto Insert Notification.
4. Reboot your computer.
Be careful not to make any other changes to these registry files.
For Windows 2000:
1. Click the Start button followed by selecting "Run".
2. Type in "gpedit.msc" and click OK.
3. Click and expand "Computer Configuration", followed by "Administrative Template", followed by "System".
4. Double click "Disable Autoplay" and then select "Enable" followed by clicking "OK". |
