Sound Does Not Work with Videos

1. Sound Fix for SMM2.5 video files in Windows98.

Some computers may have a problem playing the sound of video files in Windows98. If so, download the following file:

1a. For SMM25:
mtb40lnl.dll
a. Before installing the patch, back up your current mtb40lnl.dll file, which is in the SMM25 directory, by copying this file to a different directory.

b. Download the file mtb40lnl.dll to a temporary directory on your computer.

c. Copy the file to your smm25 folder. You will be prompted with a dialog box requesting if you want to overwrite the older version of the file. Click YES.

1b. For SMM30: You do not have to download this file as the problem will not occur for most users, because an alternative fix has been established. If you have any problems with sound in SleepMultiMedia or in other programs you might be best to download the file.
tb60lnl.dll
a. Before installing the patch, back up your current tb60lnl.dll file, which is in the SMM30 directory, by copying this file to a different directory.
b. Download the file tb60lnl.dll to a temporary directory on your computer.
c. Copy the file to the smm30 directory. You will be prompted with a dialog box requesting if you want to overwrite the older version of the file. Click YES.
d. If you download this file for SMM30, double click on the file tb60.ini in the smm30 folder and change the line in the file to: SoundMgr=1. Restart SleepMultiMedia.
